It has turned out better than the photo .The Art exhibition is in Attleborough Town Hall ,Friday 5th /Saturday 6th/ Sunday 7th  September 10am till 4pm.There will be work from lots of local artist working in different mediums. Many for sale .

-------------------------------------------------------

Yesterday was spent   with  10  Norfolk Young Quilters ,thy all worked very hard and as you can see some did not manage to finish. All the children are given work sheet to keep ( in there owl folders )so hopefully thy will get them finished .Just a little hand sewing on the binding should do the job.

The next class is making a Christmas Table centre . Before that  M.C. and I will spend a day cutting  and putting in to packs all the fabric needed, with full instructions . We are vary luck as we have money and fabric donated by individual  members of  the   Norfolk Quilters Guild . We also do fund raising by sell things we have made as samples of the children's workshops   .

The future is looking good for the next generation for Quilters.
Enjoy what you are doing .

No Quilting to-day

I have just made my granddaughter two dresses for her birthday. All the family will be hear for Easter Sunday tea  so we will make it a party for her. Just a few days early but I will be on holiday on the actual day. I think she will get a lot of wear from the dresses as thy will have Christmas in New Zealand with her other grandparents . Two summers.

I will have to get all the beds clear of fabric and put the machine away but to day as the sun is out I must get the grass cut.

Tuesday 8 April 2014

Two new Tote bags

I have had a very busy time . The Norfolk Young Quilters have been very active with two workshops making the OWL book cover , as the first one was over subscribed . Last  weekend we were selling fabric ( unsuitable for quilting )at Norfolk Quilters coffee morning.  M.C. and I have had a day cutting out 18 kits for the next Y.Q. workshop in June as well as sorting some fabric for the one in August .

I am also trying to sort out my Mothers bungalow , deciding where thing will go ( to my girls ,storage ,or for sale )

I just had to have my FIX of sewing .Back to my stack for more inspiration and this is the result as well as some for Christmas  but I will leave them for later.

Now to get ready to go and celebrate my Mothers 92nd birthday this afternoon.

Saturday 1 March 2014

Having put all my sewing things away for Christmas and having my Mother ill for a month it is back to sewing. The pattern I found in a book at the library on Monday .It will now go to the care home I have now got my Mother in , for a charity auction .

Now to look through more fabric to see what to make next.

Happy Sewing

Winchester Cathedral, Hampshire

I have used this floor as inspiration this time .

Medieval 1

Using this photo of the floor in  Byland Abby , North Yorkshire , England I have started work on some blocks .

When I started to look at tiles from the medieval times I was struck by the patterns that are now used in Patchwork . The tile in the bottom corner of the photo made me think of double wedding ring . The one in the centre of the photo Dresden plate .

                           What do you think ??

Owl Book cover

I have just made this book  cover to follow the instructions M.C has written out for the Norfolk Young Quilter as a run through to make certain nothing has been left out.

                                           ------------------------------------------------

M.C. and I are now working on some medieval inspired block. I am enjoying this as it need's some research to find images. The first block  is under way .

Enjoy your sewing and look at the show in Tokyo on other blog .
