No Quilting to-day

I have just made my granddaughter two dresses for her birthday. All the family will be hear for Easter Sunday tea  so we will make it a party for her. Just a few days early but I will be on holiday on the actual day. I think she will get a lot of wear from the dresses as thy will have Christmas in New Zealand with her other grandparents . Two summers.

I will have to get all the beds clear of fabric and put the machine away but to day as the sun is out I must get the grass cut.

Nw Zealand cushion cover numbr 2

Finished at last.

Hear it is with it's mate.

I have spent the morning in the garden doing some weeding, this afternoon the forecast rain has arrived, so having nothing else planed I got on and finished the cushion cover I started months ago . All I had to do was the piping and put the back on. I love the Jenny Rayment pattern. I still have two more fat quarts to use,  just waiting for the right pattern for the fabric.   Another thing for  "show and tell on Thursday.

Going through old books and mags

Having decided to go through my old books and magazines I found a pattern in Jenny Rayment's
book    Creative Tucks and Textures   . I am going to make another cushion cover using more of the
fabric my daughter brought back from her trip to New Zealand .

I now have a large pile of magazines to pass on to some girls new to Quilting.

I am now getting ready to go to my Art group.
Enjoy your day what ever you are doing

Joanne Mitchell pattern

I have just finished the Mountain Daisy pattern by Joanne Mitchell of New Zealand.

I have been asked to put something extra into our exhibition on June so as this is now finished

this will be there. So now I will start work on some orders for 3 bags I have.

The weather is still wet and windy so staying in to sew is great.

Mountain Daisy of New Zealand

This the start of the Mountain Daisy  pattern by Joanne Mitchell from my New Zealand book.

I have used some of the fabric my daughter bought back.

I have stared to Applique using King Tut thread but my next choice might be
Madeira.

I will go and cook my dinner and come back to this later.

Presents from New Zealand

I thought I would show you the gift my daughter gave me on her return from her family trip.

As her husband is from New Zealand the four of them spent Christmas over there.

Thy had three months to do some touring and of course Family stuff, what an adventure

for a 3year old.

I will think long and hard as to what to make as I do not want to mess it up.

The book may give me inspiration,I have not looked at it yet as the all my family have been hear for Easter

as it was also my Mothers 90th birthday.
